VivaLNK has unveiled its Vital Scout assessment patch with electrocardiography (ECG) and three-dimensional (3D) accelerometer sensors to monitor vital signs.
The patch can track heart rate (HR) and variability, as well as respiration rate (RR), incorporating specialised algorithms to determine stress levels, activity/exercise intensity, and recovery, duration, as well as the quality of sleep.
Vital Scout leverages the firm’s breathable and non-invasive eSkin technology, which is a thin electronic substrate used for sensor integration and data services.
Contrary to conventional wrist-worn devices that contain optical photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors, the new wireless wearable patch uses ECG sensors to obtain accurate HR and RR readings.
The integrated lifestyle management app is expected to make the patch suitable for wellness professionals.
Designed to be worn over the chest with adhesives for even shorter durations from 24-72 hours, Vital Scout can notify areas of improvement, set wellness goals and encourage behavioural changes.
