Clarius Mobile Health has launched T-Mode AI, a new educational tool designed to improve clinicians’ ultrasound image interpretation skills with the help of handheld scanners.
Utilising artificial intelligence (AI), T-Mode AI transforms grayscale ultrasound images by adding colour, patterns and labels, enabling clinicians to recognise anatomical structures during examinations instantly.
The compact Clarius ultrasound scanners are known for delivering high-definition imaging akin to traditional systems but at a significantly lower cost.
These devices are particularly favoured by plastic surgeons and aesthetics practitioners for conducting ultrasound-guided procedures safely.
Currently, T-Mode AI is available for aesthetics and plastic surgery applications with Clarius wireless scanners.
Clarius plans to expand its anatomical models to support additional medical specialities in the future.

By GlobalDataClarius founder Laurent Pelissier said: “The engineering team at Clarius has spent nearly a decade pushing the innovation barriers of ultrasound; we’ve removed wires, improved image quality and shrunk scanners to the size of an iPhone. And we’ve been using AI to make them easy to use.
“But I believe T-Mode is the most ground-breaking technology we’ve seen since the invention of B-Mode in the 70s and Color Doppler in the 80s because it truly makes ultrasound easy to learn for novice users.
“Now we’re very excited to bring T-Mode to market to help more users unlock the power of ultrasound to deliver the best patient care.”
Last month, Clarius received the US Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its Clarius Bladder AI non-invasive tool, which is designed to automatically measure bladder volume.
