AliveCor has introduced the InstantQT solution in Europe for remote recording of a point-of-care electrocardiogram (ECG).
The new technology, which works in conjunction with the KardiaMobile 6L device and the KardiaStation app, enables physicians to record ECGs and assess patients for cardiac irregularities in less than one minute.
It can significantly reduce the time required for ECG analysis, which traditionally could take days or weeks and can allow physicians to receive medical-grade clinical feedback directly.
This eliminates the need for additional appointments and reduces associated costs.
To simplify the process of taking a medical-grade ECG, the KardiaMobile 6L device allows users to complete the test in 30 seconds by touching the electrodes with their fingers and placing another electrode on their left knee or ankle.
AliveCor’s AI algorithm, which incorporates the EK12 ECG algorithm from GE Healthcare, instantly evaluates the ECG.

By GlobalDataThe KardiaStation professional app then provides immediate feedback on the patient’s QTc value at the point of care, allowing physicians to make informed treatment decisions.
It also generates a detailed documentation report that can be printed, emailed, or integrated into the patient’s electronic health record.
The InstantQT solution and KardiaStation app are currently available for iOS devices and are designed to comply with data privacy regulations.
AliveCor EMEA senior director Sean Warren said: “The InstantQT solution has the potential to revolutionise the way certain drugs are initiated, streamlining current physician workflows whilst also prioritising patient safety.”
Last year, the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommended the device for measuring the cardiac QT interval in adults receiving or about to receive antipsychotic medication as part of its Early Value Assessment pilot project.
Earlier this year, Delve Health announced a collaboration to integrate AliveCor’s KardiaMobile 6L personal EKG device into its LiveCare Link + smart RPM gateway to improve cardiac care.
