Pro Medicus’ subsidiary Visage Imaging has signed an A$40m ($24.8m) contract with LucidHealth for the Visage 7 Enterprise Imaging Platform.
Depending on a transactional licensing model, the seven-year contract will enable the implementation of the Visage 7, including the Visage 7 Viewer, to unify diagnostic imaging across LucidHealth’s extensive network.
The planning phase for the rollout is set to begin immediately, utilising Visage’s cloud-based implementation process. The phased go-live is expected to start in Q3/Q4 2025.
Staffed by more than 300 radiologists, LucidHealth operates across 140 care sites and will benefit from Visage 7’s ability to provide subspecialised remote and on-site radiology reading services.
The imaging platform claims to differentiate imaging organisations seeking to advance beyond traditional picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), noted the company.
The system also reportedly offers speed, clinical capabilities, and scalability to meet the needs of bulk organisations.
Pro Medicus CEO Dr Sam Hupert said: “LucidHealth joins our rapidly growing list of private practice clients. Their needs, which include subspecialised onsite and remote reading/teleradiology capabilities, are uniquely catered for by our proprietary server-side streaming technology, reinforcing our view that Visage 7 is ideally positioned to address this market and the other key market segments we service, which include academic medical centres, IDNs [integrated delivery networks] and outpatient clinics.”
The Visage 7 platform is built on a single code base, allowing organisations to “consolidate” multiple viewers into a single customisable viewing platform.
This has been a key driver for health imaging company Pro Medicus since its founding in 1983 and the subsequent acquisition of Visage Imaging in January 2009.
Pro Medicus provides a range of medical imaging software and services, including PACS, AI, and e-health solutions.
