US-based Dovetail Genomics has commercially launched its new Dovetail Hi-C sequencing and assembly service to produce chromosome-scale genome assemblies.
The new Dovetail Hi-C service has been adapted to the requirements of researchers who need high-quality genomes, particularly those with potential of being community references.
The in vivo chromatin interactions in the Dovetail Hi-C libraries also enable researchers to look at biological signals and chromosome rearrangements.
Dovetail CEO Todd Dickinson said: "We are thrilled to be expanding our menu of services with the launch of our Dovetail Hi-C offering.
"Our new Dovetail Hi-C assembly service dramatically improves researchers' insight into their genomes of interest.
“As a result, we are enabling more powerful comparative studies for better understanding of genomic structure and organisation of regulatory elements this will be a great aid for crop and livestock improvement studies."

By GlobalDataDovetail Hi-C for scaffolding uses short-read data from next-generation sequencing and then combine it with long-range information.
The technology has the ability to increase scaffold contiguity and accuracy of assemblies as it uses read pairs generated by proximity ligation of DNA in chromatin.
The Dovetail Hi-C technology has been developed as fast and affordable way to span distances up to the size of whole chromosomes making it a practical option for all the users.
The technology is now available and will be showcased in a Dovetail-hosted workshop at the Plant & Animal Genome conference (PAG XXV) in San Diego, US.
