Management Occupations, with a share of 15% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the North American medical industry in Q1 2023 , ahead of Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations with a 10% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Computer and Mathematical Occupations with an 8% share in Q1 2023, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 7% share and Architecture and Engineering Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 23% of hiring activity

Laboratory Corp of America Holdings posted 6,605 jobs in Q1 2023 and registered a growth of 13% over the previous quarter, followed by West Pharmaceutical Services with 3,367 jobs and a 168% growth. Abiomed, with 2,272 jobs, and Becton Dickinson and Co, with 1,815 jobs, recorded a 214% rise and an 85% drop, respectively, while Stryker recorded a 0.4% decline with a 1,724 new job postings during Q1 2023.
