Management Occupations drive social media-related hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 20%, emerged as the top social media-related job roles within the medical industry in Q1 2023, with new job postings drop by 13% quarter-on-quarter. Sales and Related Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q1 2023, with new job postings rising by 25% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social media roles include Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 9% share in Q1 2023, Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 8% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in medical industry accounted for 45% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q1 2023 were ConvaTec Group, Guerbet, SmileDirectClub, athenahealth, and Elekta. Together they accounted for a combined share of 45% of all social media-related new jobs in the medical industry.

ConvaTec Group posted 380 social media-related new jobs in Q1 2023, Guerbet 335 jobs, SmileDirectClub 207 jobs, athenahealth 161 jobs, and Elekta 144 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 51.50% share of total new job postings, Q1 2023

The largest share of social media-related new job postings in the medical industry in Q1 2023 was in the US with 51.50% followed by France (12.66%) and the UK (7.23%). The share represented by the US was three percentage points higher than the 48.90% share it accounted for in Q4 2022.
