A recently granted patent (Publication Number: US11966508B2) discloses a survey system that includes a target attached to a pole, a surveying instrument with distance and angle measuring capabilities, an eyewear device with sensors for eye motion detection, a display, and input commands, a storage unit for storing measurement points, and an arithmetic processing unit for synchronizing information with coordinates of the measurement point. The display on the eyewear device shows a virtual image of the measurement point superimposed on the real landscape seen by the wearer, allowing for distance and angle measurements to be made based on input commands from the wearer.

Furthermore, the survey system includes features such as a line-of-sight sensor for detecting the wearer's line of sight, an imaging device for detecting eye motion, and a tracking unit for automatically tracking the target within a predetermined range from the measurement point. The system also allows for real-time display of position information of the target on the eyewear device's display. Additionally, the storage unit and arithmetic processing unit are integrated into the surveying instrument, and the display on the eyewear device generates the entire virtual image, enhancing the user experience and accuracy of measurements during surveying tasks.
