Total medical devices industry cross border deals worth $1.3bn were announced globally for March 2022, with the $240m acquisition of Ivenix being the sector’s biggest investment, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 43.4% over the previous month of $2.35bn and a drop of 81.1% when compared with the last 12-month average of $7.03bn.

In terms of number of cross border deals, the sector saw a rise of 15.00% with 69 deals in March 2022 when compared to the last 12-month average of 60 deals.

In value terms, North America led the activity with cross border deals worth $844m in March 2022.
