April 2022 has seen an increase of 2.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.14% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering an increase of 0.09% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 34.38% in April 2022, a 45% drop over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 25% in April 2022, marking a 300% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 18.75% in April 2022, a 50% rise from March 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 100% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s medical industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Abbott Laboratories posted 8 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 300% over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 7 jobs and a 600% growth. Sartorius with 3 IT jobs and Edwards Lifesciences with 2 jobs, recorded a 50% drop and a 100% rise, respectively, while Boston Scientific recorded a 100% increase with 2 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s medical industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 53.13% share in April 2022, an 183.33% increase over March 2022. Costa Rica featured next with a 15.63% share, down 50% over the previous month. Puerto Rico recorded a 9.38% share, a drop of 50% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.63%, down by 8.7% from March 2022. Entry Level positions with a 28.13% share, registered a growth of 80% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.25% share, down 66.67% over March 2022.
