Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive 3D printing-related hiring activity
Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 37%, emerged as the top 3D printing-related job roles within the medical industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings drop by 23% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Mathematical Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 13% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent 3D printing roles include Production Occupations with a 10% share in Q2 2024, Management Occupations with a 8% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in medical industry accounted for 32% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Align Technology, Planmeca, Envista, Intuitive Surgical, and Globus Medical. Together they accounted for a combined share of 32% of all 3D printing-related new jobs in the medical industry.
Align Technology posted 22 3D printing-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Planmeca 19 jobs, Envista 19 jobs, Intuitive Surgical 14 jobs, and Globus Medical 14 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 59.86% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of 3D printing-related new job postings in the medical industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 59.86% followed by Germany (5.73%) and India (5.02%). The share represented by the US was six percentage points lower than the 65.75% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
