German medical devices monitoring company CardiLink is leveraging Irish secure connectivity firm Asavie IoT Connect to securely monitor and maintain automated external defibrillator (AED) devices deployed in public spaces and corporate campuses.
The CardiLink cloud platform is intended to provide AED owners and manufacturers with critical insights into the operational effectiveness of their device fleets.
These insights are said to aid the owners and manufacturers in compliance with health sector legislative directives in the EU and US, which require maintenance of a system where the AED state is logged.
Asavie IoT Connect is designed to offer on-demand secure and private connectivity for each AED endpoint.
The AED devices are authorised and authenticated onto a private network that is off the public internet. This reduces their exposure to cybersecurity threats.
CardiLink can also use Asavie IoT Connect to create on-demand private network connectivity for individual manufacturers. This capability is said to protect the devices and data as well as help with adherence to regulations.
