DispatchHealth has acquired mobile imaging company Professional Portable X-Ray (PPX) to offer imaging services when needed for home visit patients.
The latest deal will aid DispatchHealth in continuing to build its in-home care system by expanding its existing service specialities to include mobile radiology.
Initially, the combined services will be launched within the companies’ Phoenix, Arizona service area and then expanded across DispatchHealth’s US footprint.
The in-home care model of DispatchHealth continues to be vital during the Covid-19 pandemic, as patients and health systems look for new ways to avoid unnecessary exposure to the virus.
DispatchHealth CEO and co-founder Dr Mark Prather said: “20% of DispatchHealth’s current acute care visits require radiography and/or ultrasonography. This overall volume will only continue to grow as we expand into new markets.
“We look forward to expanding PPX’s innovative platform into our larger markets while simultaneously activating our services in its current markets.”
