GE HealthCare has launched Sonic DL for 3D, the latest addition to its imaging portfolio that aims to expedite magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans across various clinical applications.
Initially released last year for cardiac MRI, Sonic DL for 3D is currently designed to support brain, spine, orthopaedic, and body exams, claiming up to a 12-fold increase in accelerating the scan process while preserving the quality of diagnosis.

The expansion of the system is claimed to potentially decrease scan times by up to 86% to address issues such as healthcare burnout, staffing shortages, rising workloads, and time constraints for physicians.
It leverages the company’s deep learning technology and builds on the AIR Recon DL.
The integration of Sonic DL’s speed with AIR Recon DL’s noise reduction technology helps clinicians reduce scan times, improve image resolution by up to 55%, and enable faster, more accurate diagnoses with ease.
