Health technology company Happy Health has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Happy Ring, a clinical-grade wearable smart ring and comprehensive digital health platform.
The Happy Ring is described as the first wearable medical device that offers medical accuracy with the convenience of all-day wearability.
It is designed to monitor vital health metrics including blood oxygen, sleep, heart rate, temperature and brain activity, while maintaining a comfortable fit on the user’s finger.
The device features diamond-hard ceramic construction.
The Happy Ring is part of a complete at-home monitoring platform that includes an FDA-approved bathroom weight scale.
Happy Health CEO Dr Dustin Freckleton stated: “We’re inundated today with wearable devices that are invalidated and inaccurate, leading to poor decision-making and, ultimately, anxiety. Imagine driving down a remote highway with a fuel gauge that’s constantly fluctuating and faulty.
