Intelligent Scopes (ISC) has developed an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) platform for gastroenterology, named Helga AI-GEP, for the detection of colon cancer.
The platform is designed for providing computer-aided devices to detect, classify, and characterise lesions and tissue irregularities in the colon and the upper gastrointestinal tract.
The company is now commencing validation with its Helga iCAP AI software tool to detect colonic conditions.
In addition to identifying polyps and adenomas, the tool can help endoscopists delineate the condition and classify it into sub-types of polyps (hyperplastic and inflammatory) and adenomas (sessile, serrated, tubular and villous).
By partnering with clinicians, academia, and equipment manufacturers, Intelligent Scopes will create tools that help endoscopists enhance patient care.
The commercial launch of Intelligent Scopes’ services is anticipated following regulatory approvals, with a target set for the second half of 2024.
