Medit and Pearl have announced a collaboration to integrate the latter’s AI-powered offerings into the Medit Link platform, aimed at improving dental diagnostics.

By combining Medit’s precision imaging with Pearl’s AI, the partnership aims to improve intraoral scanning enabling dental professionals to diagnose conditions and convey the results to patients.

The Medit Link platform claims to facilitate digital workflows in dental laboratories and clinics, from intraoral scanning to patient communication tools.

With Pearl’s AI-powered diagnostic solutions now part of the platform, clinicians can detect oral conditions and pathologies, as well as identify various dental issues such as teeth misalignment, calculus, teeth discolouration, and cracks.

The partnership claims to equip clinicians with tools to offer “patient-centred” treatment.

Medit CEO Han Ryu said: “By combining Medit’s intraoral scanning technologies with AI image analysis, we can potentially eliminate ambiguity for both dentists and patients. Pearl’s digital tools are expected to provide clear visual evidence that supports diagnosis and treatment plans, facilitating real-time discussions and enhancing patient engagement.

“With these tools at their fingertips along with Medit intraoral scanners and Medit Link, dental professionals could save time, improve efficiency, and keep appointments running smoothly.”

Medit utilises patented technology to develop 3D intraoral scanners and digital dentistry solutions.

Founded in 2019, Pearl is an AI-driven company AI focused on improving dental care. The company claims to have introduced the first AI cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that can detect diseases in dental X-rays.
