Jan Medical has begun an outpatient clinical study to validate the Nautilus NeuroWave continuous brain-sensing system’s ability to detect a unique ‘signature’ that strongly correlates with the signs and symptoms of concussions.
US high-school football players will be enrolled in the study, which will determine if and how signature resolution correlates with resolution of the clinical concussion syndrome.
The study is being directed by Stanford University Medical Center professor Paul Auerbach. He said that the compact size of the system makes it ideal for use on sidelines or locker rooms, within ambulances or emergency departments, and even on battlefields.
Jan Medical CEO Paul Lovoi added, "We are hopeful that our Nautilus NeuroWave system can rapidly provide definitive information about patients presenting with concussion symptoms."
