Toshiba America Medical Systems has introduced its new Aquilion Prime CT at the Radiological Society of North America’s annual meeting in Chicago, US.
The Aquilion Prime consists of an 80-row 0.5mm detector, a 7.5-MHU large-capacity tube and a 78cm aperture gantry. It offers 0.35-second scanning.
Using double-slice technology and the coneXact reconstruction algorithm, Aquilion Prime can generate 160 slices per rotation, and form MPR and 3D-rendered images.
The system’s high-speed rotation allows rapid data acquisition and reduces scan times, improving patient care.
The Aquilion system will help healthcare facilities to produce quality clinical images with the low radiation exposure, while also improving efficiency.
Toshiba CT business unit director Joseph Cooper said by combining 0.35-second gantry rotation speed and the reconstruction technology, various examinations can be performed and reconstructed in seconds.
