Medical device manufacturer RhythMedix has launched its next-generation wearable novel cardiac telemetry monitor with built-in 4G cellular connectivity for arrhythmia detection.
The new RhythmStar is a device that is discreetly worn for extended remote monitoring without requiring an additional phone or communication device.
Even though remote cardiac monitoring has enhanced arrhythmia detection, patient compliance and timely access to heart activity currently lower the chances of correct and timely diagnosis.
The technology supports rapid ECG analysis and reporting of cardiac abnormalities by the company’s team of US-based certified technicians who alert physicians on detecting an arrhythmia of concern.
RhythMedix president, chief operations officer, and co-founder Brian Pike said: “We are excited to offer physicians and their patients our unique monitoring solution that improves patient compliance, helps accelerate diagnosis and allows physicians to stay virtually connected to their patients with on-demand access to clinical data.
“We look forward to bringing this next-generation RhythmStar technology to physicians across the US in 2021.”

By GlobalDataThe sleek device is currently available with an innovative platform, HeartTime on-demand telemetry mode. It permits physicians in analysing cardiac activity and accelerating care using a telemedicine appointment, reducing the requirement for an in-person office visit.
RhythMedix noted that the one-piece device is the first wearable multi-modality cardiac monitor (Holter, Event, and MCT) that connects patients and clinicians for better patient care.
Cooper University Health Care, New Jersey clinical cardiologist Steven DaTorre said: “The novel wearable RhythmStar monitoring device offers increased patient compliance and allows for accurate assessment of cardiac rhythm in real time.
“It also allows me to remain connected to my patients throughout their monitoring period, which may expedite a life-saving diagnosis.”
