Vave Health has launched Universal Wireless Probe, a handheld device aimed at improving accuracy, diagnostics and efficiency in various clinical and educational environments.

The probe comes with a suite of presets, offering a tool for healthcare professionals to deliver improved care in any setting.

It combines linear and phased imaging technology to offer full-body imaging without recurring subscription fees or hidden expenses, stated the company.

Additionally, the device features the industry’s gold-standard PZT transducer technology and is designed for portability.

It includes a patented probe head cover and a battery that can be swapped, which helps to reduce downtime and maintain continuous operation.

Vave claims to minimise the expenses and “complexity” associated with current point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) technologies, facilitating broader adoption of medical imaging directly at the patient’s point of need.

Vave Health chief medical officer Dr Renee Dversdal said: “A combination of wireless portability, lack of subscription and membership fees, life-time software updates, full-body imaging and rich educational support make the Vave solution the ideal platform for new learners and seasoned POCUS users alike.”

Vave Health CEO and founder Nikoozadeh said: “At Vave, our mission is to make medical imaging more accessible to all medical professionals. Our unique platform is designed around simplicity, with a wireless ultraportable device that offers intuitive workflow at an unmatched price point.”

The company, which is headquartered in San Jose, California, US, focuses on increasing access to “high-quality” diagnostic tools at the point of care.

Its newly launched Universal Wireless Probe is an ultraportable solution that enables “cost-effective” imaging.

To provide training and curriculum backing, Vave Health offers the VaveCast feature that facilitates screen sharing across several devices, aiding in collaborative learning and decision-making.
