Medical extended reality company XRHealth has partnered with VirZOOM to transform virtual reality (VR) exercise for patients in hospitals, rehab centres and at home.
The collaboration will allow medical professionals remote access to data analytics about a patient’s exercise routine, at a medical centre or at home, to see how working out impacts their healthcare objectives.
XRHealth, formerly known as VRHealth, provides both VR and augmented reality (AR) solutions for the medical industry. Its VR solution, the VRHealth Platform, helps clinicians better manage their patient’s care via specialised extended reality technology solutions and data analysis. The platform collects and examines user data through artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-computing algorithms to give real-time analytics of a patient’s health.
VirZOOM’s technology, the VZfit fitness platform, is used in conjunction with a stationary bike to enhance an exercise routine by allowing the wearer to play a VR game as they completer their workout routine.
Feeding data from VZfit into the VRHealth Platform will allow clinicians to track their patients’ progress outside of hospitals and rehab centres.
VirZOOM co-founder and CEO Eric Janszen said: “By harnessing the immersive power of VR, VirZOOM’s VZfit platform offers unique, fun, new VR-based activities that consistently motivate regular cardio exercise to consumers who need special motivation to get the regular cardio exercise that they know they need, but are not getting today.
