Medical devices firm Zoll Medical, a subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Group, has acquired US-based emergency rescue solutions developer Mobilize RRS for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2016, Mobilize provides a Mobilize Rescue app and related rescue kits to equip bystanders delivering acute critical care in various emergency situations.
Its interactive trauma and first aid systems are intended to help untrained bystanders assess, manage, and aid injured people in medical emergencies.
Zoll Resuscitation president Elijah White said: “Zoll is a leader in providing high-quality AEDs to help people save the life of someone suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.
“Mobilize Rescue Systems are a natural extension for Zoll, in that they give people the ability to help victims of nearly every type of emergency.”
Mobilize Rescue Systems comes with easy-to-use solutions to guide rescuers in helping victims of accidents, medical emergencies, and acts of violence.

By GlobalDataThe systems provide step-by-step instructions and supplies required for bystanders to manage severe bleeding, seizures, chest trauma, cardiac arrest, hypothermia, burns, and choking, among others.
This assistance can be provided while an ambulance is en route.
Each Mobilize Rescue Systems product includes medical equipment and interactive software.
The Mobilize Rescue Systems app provides lay rescuers with the knowledge required to use the supplies in the rescue kit.
The programme has been designed to take the user through mostly ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions to assess the victim. It indicates colour-coded and labelled equipment, and offers instructions to help the victim.
Mobilize Rescue Systems have been deployed by federal and local law enforcement agencies, security and investigations agencies, K-12 schools and universities, as well as public and private organisations in the US.
Mobilize RRS expects that Zoll’s extensive network will facilitate worldwide availability of the systems.
