Aidoc gains CE mark for four new AI radiology algorithms

The algorithms bolster the ability of Aidoc’s aiOS platform to alert radiologists to suspected pathologies found in medical images.

Aidoc has announced the CE marking of four new AI algorithms to its aiOS platform for healthcare providers in Europe.

The new algorithms analyse computed tomography (CT) images in radiology, supporting the notification and triaging of suspected pathologies for vessel occlusion, mispositioned endotracheal tubes, aortic dissection, and vertebral compression fractures.

Aidoc has also received CE mark for three new quantification solutions that provide standardised quantitative assessments of cardiovascular and neurological conditions, including midline shift and coronary artery calcification.

The AI algorithms add to 26 existing detection-related AI solutions on Aidoc's aiOS platform, 17 of which were developed by the Israel-based company, while the remaining tools were developed through strategic partnerships.

Aidoc’s European vice president Alexander Boehmcker commented: “With the introduction of these new solutions, we have scaled up our capability to flag more pathologies and provide important measurements with our new quantification solutions.”

Aidoc’s aiOS platform includes products designed to enhance the identification and monitoring of patients requiring follow-up for incidental or chronic conditions. By integrating with electronic health records (EHR), the platform uses text-based AI to provide  an end-to-end view of patient health.

Aidoc’s aiOS is currently in use in more than 1,000 medical centres worldwide.

Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, US, recently deployed Aidoc’s aortic aneurysms (AA) patient management solution to improve its aortic aneurysm management programme.

The latest CE marking also follows US-based University Hospitals (UH) rollout of Aidoc’s aiOS across its entire health system of 13 hospitals and dozens of outpatient locations.

The health tech company currently has three AI tools in development, in indications such as pulmonary embolism, abdominal disease, and haemorrhage, as per GlobalData’s Pipeline Products database.

According to GlobalData analysts, the AI medical imaging market is forecast to exceed $1.2bn by 2027, up from $336m in 2022.
