Argon Medical Devices has introduced the CLEANER Vac thrombectomy system, a device to remove blood clots from the peripheral venous vasculature.

This disposable, large-bore aspiration system is designed for quick thrombus removal, enhancing patient care in interventional procedures.

The CLEANER Vac system offers physicians manual control over powered aspiration, which is crucial for precise clot removal.

This feature aims to minimise vessel damage and reduce blood loss during procedures. The system is currently available for use in the US.

Argon Medical president and CEO George Leondis said: “We are committed to advancing healthcare and we are excited to deliver the newest thrombectomy solution to interventionalists who prioritise efficient, successful outcomes for their patients.

“The CLEANER Vac thrombectomy system is a testament to our dedication to improving treatment for this disease state, and we are confident this device will easily integrate into the current standard of care.”

Argon Medical Global Marketing senior vice-president Tom Younker said: “The CLEANER Vac thrombectomy system offers physicians more control to remove those clots and the streamlined design can simplify traditionally complex procedures.”

In January 2020, Argon Medical expanded its product portfolio by commercially launching two inferior vena cava (IVC) filter retrieval kits in the US.

Founded in 1972, the company has established a global presence, serving vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists and interventional cardiologists.

The company employs over 1,200 people and manufactures its products across various US locations, including Illinois, Texas, New York, and Wisconsin.

Argon Medical's brand portfolio includes the Option ELITE IVC filter, the CLEANER rotational thrombectomy system, the BioPince ultra full-core biopsy instrument, and SKATER percutaneous drainage catheters.
