Aspen Medical Products has introduced the fully integrated trauma spinal support device, the VRTX System, for post-operative and trauma care.
The VRTX System is claimed to be the first cervical to sacrum system designed to transform spinal care in acute care settings.
It consists of a prefabricated CTO, TLSO, LSO and CTLSO, with each component offering optimal motion restriction that can be adjusted to meet the specific requirements of the patient.
The prefabricated design, featuring easily adjustable sizing, assists clinicians in fitting patients and stabilising the spine.
It is an off-the-shelf solution and can enhance time and inventory management by shortening hospital stays, reducing the risk of complications and improving operational efficiency.
For maximising patient care and staff efficiencies, the new modular solution enables the standardisation of products and services in the hospital.
The modular, low-profile design of the system provides comfortable support for a wide range of patient anatomies and enhances patient recovery by helping them receive ambulatory care quickly.
An integrated QR code scan offers access to patient instructions, ensuring proper application directions are readily available.
Its other features include a symmetrical back panel for precise and consistent application and more finite height adjustments to accommodate a wide range of patients, as well as an adjustable VRTX Collar.
Aspen CEO Jim Cloar said: “We understand the need for an improved patient and clinician experience and we designed the VRTX System to bring value to the healthcare system as a whole.
“Our resulting goal was to create a family of products that all interact with one another, simplify the fitting process through intuitive design and ensure ease of use at home.”
