Biotech skintech company Codex Labs has introduced the SGBNET platform for genetic counselling and Decode DNA Tests for skin conditions and vitamin deficiencies.

The platform comprises the AI analytic DermSCORE, which monitors comedones, acne lesions, or hyperpigmentation.

Through this platform, consumers will be able to register their DECODE DNA kits, and schedule consultations with genetic counsellors.

Codex Labs CEO Dr Barbara Paldus said: “At Codex Labs, we believe that the skin-gut-brain axis holds the key to many health issues and that next-generation dermatology will integrate not only topicals and supplements, but diet, lifestyle, and mental health.

“Our aim with the SGBNET platform is to connect professionals and services with consumers who would otherwise not have access to such care.”

Furthermore, Codex Labs has launched the first two at-home DECODE diagnostic kits that are designed to provide a data-driven method to skin conditions.

They are DECODE.MYSKIN DNA Test and DECODE.MYHEALTH Vitamin DNA Test.

Using qPCR sequencing, the DECODE.MYSKIN DNA Test evaluates skin oxidative stress, sensitivity, pigmentation, oiliness, irritation, pimples, sun exposure, and general ageing.

The DECODE.MYHEALTH test is intended to assess the absorption, transport and metabolism of vitamins A through E, and the implication for conditions related to skin, using qPCR sequencing.

The test includes a 30-minute video or chat consultation with a genetic counsellor, who will provide a full test report and counsellor notes.

By working with the consumer, Codex Labs will then create a personalised routine for addressing the skin condition.

Paldus added: “We are delighted to be able to offer state-of-the-art DNA testing to complement our DermSCORE AI monitoring system to both consumers and practitioners. We believe that data-driven, at-home dermatology represents the future of accessible care to those with skin conditions.”
