GE HealthCare has launched ultrasound systems, Voluson Signature 20 and 18, which integrate AI to enhance women's health imaging.

These systems aim to expedite exam times and provide clearer diagnostic images, thereby helping to provide precision care for women.

The Voluson Signature 20 and 18 systems feature the "Hey Voluson" voice command function to save time, as well as the SonoLyst tool that utilises AI to identify and measure fetal anatomy.

Additional features include SonoPelvicFloor, which automates assessments of the pelvic floor, accelerating exams by automating plane alignment and measurements for a keystroke reduction of up to 76%; and Fibroid Mapping, an AI-driven feature that aids in the standardisation and simplification of fibroid documentation.

The GE’s two new systems also feature the fetalHS tool to simplify and accelerate fetal heart assessments by up to 48%.

Moreover, the integration of Vscan Air CL wireless dual probe with the new systems enables a flexible wireless workflow, thereby eliminating the constraints of cables and allowing a wide range of motion.

GE HealthCare Women’s Health Ultrasound general manager Gerald Seifriedsberger said: “Next-level image clarity can help clinicians detect fetal abnormalities and hard-to-spot gynaecological emergencies or conditions like endometriosis earlier, which can make a big difference in a patient’s treatment plan and overall health.

“With proven time-saving AI-driven applications and advanced automation features that simplify exams, we’re providing technology that can help enhance ease of use and provide clearer images – helping clinicians power through demanding workflows faster while delivering greater consistency and accuracy, ultimately helping deliver better health outcomes for women.”

In February 2024, GE HealthCare partnered with MedQuest Associates to provide new medical device technology and digital tools for outpatient imaging centres.
