Health technology company Happy Health has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Happy Ring, a clinical-grade wearable smart ring and comprehensive digital health platform.
The Happy Ring is described as the first wearable medical device that offers medical accuracy with the convenience of all-day wearability.
It is designed to monitor vital health metrics including blood oxygen, sleep, heart rate, temperature and brain activity, while maintaining a comfortable fit on the user's finger.
The device features diamond-hard ceramic construction.
The Happy Ring is part of a complete at-home monitoring platform that includes an FDA-approved bathroom weight scale.
Happy Health CEO Dr Dustin Freckleton stated: “We're inundated today with wearable devices that are invalidated and inaccurate, leading to poor decision-making and, ultimately, anxiety. Imagine driving down a remote highway with a fuel gauge that's constantly fluctuating and faulty.
“Instead of providing reassurance, it leaves you frustrated. This is the reality for many people relying on today's wearables for health decision-making. We're here to change that.”
The company’s platform extends beyond the Happy Ring and associated devices, offering a comprehensive diagnostic and clinical monitoring solution.
It utilises personalised machine learning algorithms and generative AI to contextualise data effectively.
With Happy, data transforms into actionable notifications and alerts for patients and their care teams. This approach enables coordinated monitoring for health conditions including heart disease, sleep apnea, diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
By providing patients with actionable data and clinical expertise, the company empowers individuals to proactively manage their health from the comfort of their homes.
