Insign Medical Technology has partnered with AAEON to develop an AI-assisted endoscopic technology.
The new 'EndoDASS' system is designed to enhance the precision and safety of colonoscopy procedures by helping gastroenterologists identify potentially malignant lesions.
The partnership integrated AAEON's BOXER-8641AI Fanless Embedded AI System and the advanced software of Insign.
AAEON Smart Platform Division associate vice-president Alex Hsueh said: “This collaboration not only reduces procurement costs for users but also provides doctors with more data for optimal treatment plans, enhancing detection speed and accuracy during gastrointestinal examinations.
“This marks a significant advancement in medical assistive equipment, using AI technology to assist in identifying even the smallest lesions, benefiting the general public.”
Using convolutional neural networks (CNNs), 3D imaging, and data augmentation, the system enables doctors to understand which colon section is being examined.
The high computational requirements of 3D imaging in the EndoDASS system are met by the BOXER-8641AI, which is powered by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin platform.
This platform uses up to 200 TOPS of advanced inferencing performance, enabling real-time analysis of endoscopic images.
AAEON said the BOXER-8641AI's capabilities are further enhanced by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin module, which is specifically designed for AI applications that require high-performance computing.
Equipped for advanced deep learning acceleration, the module is adept at real-time object detection, accelerated data transmission, and maintaining robust performance in demanding environments.
