KORE, an Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider, has partnered with Medical Guardian to launch a medical alert device featuring eSIM technology.

The device, MGMini, is designed to provide uninterrupted emergency response coverage.

Designed in line with the World Health Organization's definition of "active ageing”, the device is equipped with KORE's OmniSIM technology, allowing for seamless network carrier switching for consistent 24/7 connectivity.

The technology equips Medical Guardian with the ability to wirelessly transition between network carriers.

This not only streamlines logistics by using a single SIM card for multiple providers but also future-proofs safety devices against potential network or carrier changes.

The MGMini, Medical Guardian’s latest personal emergency response systems (PERS) device, is activated with the new eSIM and benefits from KORE’s reliable connectivity services.

Featuring two-way communication, the MGMini allows users to instantly connect with emergency operators and caregivers with just the press of a button.

KORE president and CEO Romil Bahl said: “Medical Guardian’s life-saving devices, connected by KORE’s eSIM technology, serve as prime examples of how IoT can make positive, real-world impacts.

“IoT can be applied to help solve our most daunting obstacles, like caring for our growing ageing population. Helping our seniors age with dignity helps us all look forward to a brighter future.”

Furthermore, the device's connectivity offers proactive health management for Medical Guardian’s membership base of more than 100,000 individuals enrolled in various health support programmes.

Medical Guardian founder and CEO Geoff Gross said: “This exciting partnership enables us to deliver enhanced connectivity to our services and unlock unique touchpoints to protect members, establish trusting relationships, close gaps in care, and improve health outcomes.”
