Medical technology company Masimo has initiated the Stork smart home baby monitoring system in the US.
Available in multiple configurations, the baby monitor system features several components, such as Stork Vitals+ and Vitals.
Stork Vitals+ features a video camera, a boot with a sensor and a mobile app. The high-resolution camera delivers better nighttime vision and quality two-way audio, enabling parents to hear and talk to their babies.
For precise reporting of room temperature and humidity, the camera is installed with room condition monitoring.
All components are linked to the Masimo Stork app, which enables parents to view their baby’s monitoring data and summaries of averages and trends.
For individuals who do not need video streaming or wish to use baby monitoring beyond their home, the Stork Vitals solution substitutes the camera with a health hub.
This hub links the Stork boot and sensor to the Stork App, enabling parents to listen to their baby and monitor the room environment.
Utilising the company's noninvasive hospital neonate monitoring technologies, Stork provides various features such as 2K quad-high-definition capable video, a parent-tested mobile app, secure and encrypted connectivity, as well as continuous health data tracking.
Masimo founder and CEO Joe Kiani said: “We are delighted to bring Masimo Stork to parents and caregivers in the US.
“With the launch of Stork, parents for the first time can have access to a technology originally developed for the most challenging patients in hospitals, with a user interface that is a simple and easy-to-use app on a phone.”
Stork Vitals+, Vitals, and camera combinations can now be purchased from major retailers such as Best Buy and speciality retailers, including Babylist.
