UK-based medical device manufacturer Osteotec has partnered with orthopaedic solutions company TriMed for the distribution of the Osteotec Silicone Finger Implant across the US.
Initiated in February 2024, the collaboration marks a significant step in Osteotec's global expansion strategy.
The Osteotec Silicone Finger Implant, a one-piece silicone elastomer implant, is designed to enhance function and alleviate pain in finger joints affected by various arthritic conditions or trauma.
Supplied sterile and available in 11 sizes, the implant is intended for use in metacarpophalangeal (MCP) or proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint arthroplasty.
It has been clinically used in the UK for more than two decades and sold in numerous markets since 2004.
Osteotec sales and marketing director Dean Stockwell said: "TriMed is not only one of the leading innovators in the field of orthopaedics but shares our commitment to exceptional customer service and providing surgeons with options that improve patient outcomes.
“Osteotec has successfully distributed the TriMed upper extremity portfolio in the UK for more than a decade, and we are proud to build on this long-term partnership to expand access to our products in the US.
"We look forward to working with the TriMed team to grow and support sales of the Osteotec Silicone Finger Implant through our shared expertise, ensuring their customers receive the highest quality experience, service and support within the industry.”
The partnership with TriMed is expected to significantly increase the implant's availability in the US.
