Royal Philips has launched the new Azurion neuro biplane interventional system, a significant enhancement to its image-guided therapy system.

The system is designed to streamline neurovascular procedures, aiding care teams in making quicker decisions, treating more patients and achieving better outcomes.

It features advanced 2D and 3D imaging and flexible X-ray detector positioning.

The system enables neuro-interventionists to conduct procedures more efficiently, potentially improving patient outcomes. This contributes to an enhanced experience for both staff and patients and supports a reduction in the cost of care.

The Azurion neuro biplane system features Philips' ClarityIQ low-dose imaging technology, neuro-dedicated tools and services that together provide a fully integrated solution to ensure smooth procedure workflows, precise diagnosis and treatment.

Additional features of the system include enhanced C-arm rotation and angulation, comprehensive table-side control, automatic beam rotation for correctly oriented images and a new head immobiliser for improved stroke care.

Philips is also leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to maximise the uptime of its angio suite solutions.

Through the Philips ServiceHub, the company provides remote connection services that monitor system performance and proactively address service issues, such as predicting component failures at least seven days in advance, allowing for pre-emptive action.

Recently, Philips unveiled LumiGuide, which uses Fibre Optic RealShape technology to enable minimally invasive surgery without the need for X-ray radiation.
