US-based medical device company Stryker has expanded its foot & ankle portfolio with the introduction of two new products designed to enhance surgical precision and outcomes.
The Osteotomy Truss System (OTS) and Ankle Truss System (ATS), recently acquired from 4WEB Medical, are set to advance Stryker’s offerings to meet the needs for all foot and ankle procedures.
Featuring Arthrosphere and Arthrocube implants, the ATS utilises Truss implant technology to facilitate limb length restoration and structural integrity during tibiotalocalcaneal fusions.
Cleared for use with Stryker's T2 Ankle Arthrodesis Nail or Valor Hindfoot Fusion Nail, the ATS will be available in three shapes to support immediate surgery scheduling for ankle fusion patients.
Consisting of Cotton, Evans, and Utility wedges, the OTS serves as a comprehensive solution for osteotomy procedures and is already available for use.
Stryker plans to showcase the OTS and ATS at the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Canada, from 11 to 14 September 2024.
The company also plans to present the newly acquired Artelon portfolio and other innovative products, including the Artelon Flexband, a next-generation biomaterial aimed at restoring natural strength and elasticity to healing soft tissues.
Stryker’s Foot & Ankle business marketing and medical education vice-president Michael Rankin said: “The addition of the ATS and the integration of Artelon reflects our commitment to providing surgeons with enhanced orthopaedic solutions to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.”
Last month, Stryker agreed to acquire Care.ai, an AI-based tool for hospitals.
The startup offers a range of AI-based solutions, including virtual care, patient monitoring, and smart care facility platforms.
