UL Solutions has introduced new medical device testing services at its laboratory in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
The new offerings and capabilities will enable the company to support the state’s expanding medical device industry.
They will also help medical device manufacturers advance the security, safety, usability and interoperability of their products.
UL Solutions’ new capabilities will provide third-party verification and validation, cybersecurity services, auditing, usability testing and compliance training for manufacturers.
This will help in addressing potential risks, including quality, safety and cybersecurity issues while maintaining the pace of innovation and protecting medical device users.
UL Solutions mobility and critical systems group vice-president and general manager Mary Joyce said: “Medical device technology has continued to thrive in Michigan, which is a leader in the United States for talent, workforce and manufacturing in this industry.

UL Solutions' Rochester Hills laboratory will allow testing on various methods and specifications set by medical device manufacturers.
Furthermore, the extensive capabilities of the facility help quickly reconfigure testing based on the needs of the manufacturers and processes that reduce contaminants, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
