YourBio Health has partnered with RecoveryTrek to offer painless phosphatidylethanol (PEth) alcohol biomarker testing.

The collaboration introduces a new, method for monitoring substance use disorder patients and those in professional treatment programmes.

It combines the PROOF virtual remote collection and testing solution with YourBio Health's Touch-Activated Phlebotomy (TAP) Micro Select device.

Designed to provide a virtually painless experience, the TAP Micro Select device provides a more patient-centric option for blood sampling and may lead to higher compliance rates.

Starting this month, participants in professional monitoring programmes will be provided with a PROOF kit for remote drug, alcohol, and healthcare diagnostic testing.

The kit is powered by YourBio Health's blood sampling technology, which simplifies the collection process and can be used anywhere, at any time.

RecoveryTrek CEO Kirk Cizerle said: “As part of our mission to transform recovery, monitoring and health & wellness and enable participants, as well as consumers to take control of their health and journey through recovery, we are thrilled to partner with YourBio Health to make it easier, more convenient and less painful for people to access critical testing.

“By offering TAP devices for clinical-grade blood sampling as part of our testing kits – available through our website – we are providing an improved experience and addressing participant and consumer needs.”

The PROOF app enhances the user experience with step-by-step instructions, voice guidance, and visual aids to ensure proper sample collection.

YourBio Health CEO and president Paul Owen said: “Integrating the TAP Micro Select device into the PROOF platform sets up patients and providers for successful testing with this user-friendly, patient-centred solution from RecoveryTrek.”

Last year, YourBio obtained 510(k) medical device clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its remote collection blood device, TAP Micro Select.

The device uses a bladeless microneedle array and can house 500uL of collected capillary blood. It is listed for investigational use only.
