Vermund Larsen A / S (VELA) is expanding its office, production and warehousing facilities in Aalborg to more than double in size.
VELA, which took over Meyland-Smith A / S in Hjørring a year ago, is again expanding the company. This expansion provides an additional 6,600m² of office, warehousing and production facilities, which border the current facilities in Aalborg.
“After many years of solid growth, we need more space, both for the increasing number of colleagues and production and warehousing facilities. We have focused on a few core products and core markets, and this has borne fruit for many years. We can now safely expand our physical facilities and provide space for continued growth,” says VELA CEO Per Buus.
Demand for VELA chairs has not diminished with the Covid-19 pandemic. The main product, the VELA Tango chairs, especially help older people to increase independence in their own home, so the need for outside help is not so great. This demand is evident in Denmark as well as in VELA’s export markets.
“It is a pleasure for us that our chairs help some of the people who are most vulnerable right now and give them a safe everyday life with the opportunity to handle daily tasks themselves,” says Buus.
VELA took over the buildings on 15 December 2020 and is in the process of planning, furnishing and preparing the premises.
