STERISYS is now officially certified as a specialist company in accordance with the Water Resources Act and § 62 of the Ordinance on Facilities for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water (AwSV).
Within the scope of the audit, TÜV Rheinland convinced itself that STERISYS has the necessary equipment and competent personnel to work on facilities for handling substances hazardous to water.
According to the German Water Resources Act (WHG), only certified specialist companies are authorised to set up, repair, clean and shut down facilities handling liquids hazardous to water. The cold gas ethylene oxide falls into class 3 of water hazards.
Operators of ethylene oxide sterilisation plants are therefore responsible to ensure that only certified companies are commissioned for the above-mentioned activities.
