Worldwide manufacturer of industrial touchscreen and display solutions, Touch International (TI), has increased their OFX-Series open-frame PCAP touch monitors with new sunlight-readable models in the sizes of 10.1” and 21.5”. The plug-and-play monitors combine TI’s latest multi-touch PCAP touchscreen technology with industrial-grade displays for professional applications in environments where high ambient lighting or direct sunlight is a factor.
“TI’s OFX-SR sunlight-readable touchscreen monitors are essentially a cheat code for companies looking to integrate touch displays in environments that require daylight visibility.”
The 10.1” display features 1000nits brightness, 1280×800 WXGA resolution, and has an 800:1 native contrast ratio. Because of the -20° to 70° C operating temperature, this display is well suited for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications such as industrial controls, navigation systems, heavy-duty transport, marine controls, and public use terminals deployed across varying climates. The 21.5” display features 1500 nits brightness, 1920×1080 Full-HD resolution, and 1000:1 native contrast ratio. With an operating temperature of 0 to 50° C, it is ideal for indoor applications such as self-service pavilions, interactive retail, smart manufacturing centers, IT/IoT deployments, digital signage, and wayfinding kiosks.
“TI’s OFX-SR sunlight-readable touchscreen monitors are essentially a cheat code for companies looking to integrate touch displays in environments that require daylight visibility,” said Shaun Detmer, Director of Marketing. “Companies are freed from worrying about the critical components to focus on the fun stuff like branding, aesthetics, or exploring new performance enhancement options. We make it easy to release better products at less cost quickly.”
“What used to take months can be done in weeks when we leverage our library of reference designs and harness the power of collaborative engineering.”
Both new touch monitors feature industrial-grade displays with wide-angle viewing technology and support 16.7 million colors. The multi-touch PCAP touchscreens are integrated with a full optical bond to maximize display picture quality, backlight performance, and increase durability for the life of the product by eliminating the air gap between the touchscreen and LCD. A chemically strengthened cover glass protects both touch displays with a thin black graphic border and enough overhang to drop into enclosures, housings, or new designs with a seamless, zero-bezel fitment.
The black powder-coated aluminum enclosures feature rear VESA mounting compatibility with adjustable side flanges for integration for enclosures, cabinets, consoles, walls, other applications. HDMI and DisplayPort inputs are tucked behind the monitor to simplify cable management. Touchscreen communication is handled via USB HID-Compliant protocol to ensure plug-and-play operation with Windows or Android operating systems.
“With demo units available in Austin, customers can quickly start beta-testing GUI and software applications while the engineering and project management teams focus on decoration, mechanical design, and integration in parallel,” said Michael Woolstrum, CEO. “What used to take months can be done in weeks when we leverage our library of reference designs and harness the power of collaborative engineering.”
TI’s OFX-Series range from 7” to 55” in various resolutions, including new medical versions. Customization options include night-vision (NVIS) or dual-mode operation, SBC or media player integration, anti-microbial coatings, gloved touch, custom cover glass shape or decoration, and peripheral integration.
