Medical technology has advanced to a point where people are able to live longer lives than ever before. Not only that, but medical devices are finding an increasingly large place in the home, as formerly complex and unwieldy systems become more compact and easier to use.
This results in more users without medical training taking on the responsibility of operating medical equipment and diagnostic tools. The results of this trend is that more consumers without technical knowledge are forced to attempt to understand manuals and instructional information that was written for a medically trained audience.
